Tengs Fashion Wig [First Impressions]

So recently I bought a 'Tengs® High Quality Fashion Natural Long Full Wig' in 'Coffee Blonde' (the wavy version). I bought it on Amazon for £12.99 from TheTengs. This is my first impression of the product.

Well first of all I ordered the wig in a coffee blonde. When it arrived, the colour was deifinitely coffee but lacking in the blonde. I tried it on and well, it was a bit of a shock -- I've never had brown hair before so never knew how it suited me but now I know. It's odd...going from such a light blonde (my natural hair) to vibrant, unatural colours to a dark colour like brown. Even though I was expecting it to be more blonde, the colour wasn't too much of a problem as I grew accustomed to it and even started to like it...I'm now a part time brunette!
I bought the wig in the first place for work. I work in an office of a private hospital and one of their policies is no unnatural hair colours. I didn't have the heart to dye it a permenant natural one so I did the opposite: dyed it bright purple (see my last post) and bought a wig! How practical.
The wig arrived the next day (as I am an Amazon Prime member) and the shipping was free (again, could be down to the prime membership). It came in a cardboard box and inside was the wig wrapped in amounts of paper, a plastic resealable bag and a hair net but I'm not complaining because it came with no knots or messy whispy bits (that changed however after I wore it for a bit). Overall I'm happy with how it arrived and the time it arrived in. The price as well was not bad either. I didn't want to pay anything more than £15.00 as I'd only be wearing it for a maximum of three days a week for no more than 8 hours a day but I still wanted quality.
This product offered that. Touching the hair, it feels (what I would imagine to feel) real, when it falls against my face it gets irritating and annoying just like my own, real hair and it still manages to get caught in my bloody glasses at the hinges ... idk.

On thing I did notice about the wig (well a couple things) was when I got it, it was too long for my short body so I had to cut it slightly...tbh that wasn't a problem (I actually found it quite fun), I also found that throughout today (my first time wearing it out) the curls got very tangled and I had to keep fiddling with them. The fringe is also misshapen which means I need to cut it to to make it sit right (at the moment, my head looks tiny in it). I was thinking of maybe cutting in a full fringe but if I cock it up, thats my wig ruined so idk yet.
With my wig order, I also ordered a wig cap on the side (from a different company called Smiffys). It came a little later as it wasn't a prime deal but the shipping was still free. It's arrival didn't bother me because I didn't need my wig until a week after it arrived anyway so the cap had time.
The cap fit well and so does the wig. However after a while the wig starts to itch. Perhaps from the material of the net under the hair or the sweat from my head as it gets very warm. The net on the wig is also adjustable, though I haven't fiddled with it yet. The default size fit me fine.

The product itself I am happy with. It feels and looks like real hair although I wouldn't wear it everyday because I don't think it's shelf life is very long. The colour is pretty although I think a lighter colour would suit me better (but that's personal preference not the fault of the product) and it fits well. It serves it's purpose and although I may get a few comments here and there because people love to comment on things, idc because I know I have awesome hair underneath that comes out to play as soon as the clock strikes 5pm and I'm out the building!
I suppose I would recommend this product to a friend because it does have eye-catching selling points such as its reasonable value, it's quality and its ability to carry out its job although I would still let them know of the little nicks that aren't so great, like the difference in colour from when its on the screen to in your hands, its ability to tangle when you're sit still and the mishapen fringe but I'm sure most of the negative points can be corrected with will power and creativeness.
OVERALL RATING 3/5
