THE SHOP! First impressions!
Today was a new experience for me - I've never been to a waffle shop before but one recently opened up in town near where I live so this morning we (me and my boyfriend) decided to have breakfast there.
Firstly, look how cute the outside is! All pretty and pink with cute and comfortable rainbow coloured chairs inside and out. The shop has a kind of (what I would call) an American vibe to it with framed records of famous, prestigious musicians like Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly up on the walls and diner like floor and counter. It's a small shop but its cosy and welcoming.

The pink pattern on the exterior carries on into the interior of the shop which (in my opinion) was a very organised design that flowed well together. The pink was broken up by the rainbow coloured chairs and the white/creamy colour of the tiles and it was very pretty to look at. My only problem was I was a bit cold (like always - so to other people it wouldn't be an issue). They had their door open to tell customers they were open and being a bit of an over cast day (typical for England) the breeze was chilly but for someone who isn't cold blooded like a reptile it would be fine. Overall the shop was absolutely lovely! It's an addition to Wickford town that was needed a long time ago.
FOOD! The all important bit!

The first thing we ordered was our food but after sitting down at our table in the corner I had a craving for a milkshake and so like in any 1970s film about a couple in love, we ordered a strawberry milkshake to share (how cliché BUT cute). It came out within 5 minutes which is pretty good when making it from scratch.
The important thing was it tasted like strawberry however it had a slight watery taste to it. I put that down to either the milk they used or the ice they put in it to thicken it up as when you got nearer the bottom the watery taste increased and by that time you was sucking up the icey froth on top. My other thought was it might just be that flavour or this specific batch made so I won't have a reliable opinion until I go back to try some more! But at £1.75 a glass it was amazing!
Next comes our food which felt like forever to turn up (in reality it was only 10 minutes - again! SO GOOD when making it fresh) because I just couldn't wait to eat. We ordered one pancake with chocolate sauce and one waffle with mapple syrup which we both ate a half each of (how romantic?!).

The waffle (ordered by my boyfriend) was delicious! It was so fluffy and even the bits without the mapple syrup were tasty enough to eat plain! It wasn't dry or chewy or unpleasant to eat but simply beautiful. The mapple syrup however wouldn't be my first choice of sauce. It's no ones fault but my own because I'm a bit hit and miss with it and it was bae (with want of a better word) who chose it. Overall the waffle with the topping cost £3.50 (without the topping its £3.00) and its so worth the money because it easily fed two as it was so big (*whispers* that's what she said)!
I ordered the pancake with chocolate sauce because why not be boring and basic? (tbh, you can't beat a bit of chocolate sauce) But what came out looked and felt more like a crepe but maybe that's what their pancakes look like? - Next time I'll order a crepe and compare them :3 - Either way it was still super scrumpcious and was so big it didn't fit on the plate which is a win in my opinion. Like the waffle before it fed two people easily (and is also cheaper than the waffle) but I think out of the two completely unhealthy but sooo delicious breakfast treats I tried today I definitely prefered the waffle. Unlike it, the pancake (or crepe - I'm still not sure) was a tad crispy and almost dry so the sauce really helped it slide down. The pancake (or crepe? I need someone's opinion on this) overall cost £2.50 but without the topping it would have been £2.00 - charging 50p for a topping seems reasonable enough to me?! - so our breakfast was super yummy and completely affordable as it only cost --- *whips out calculator* £7.75 split between two people so *whips out calculator again* £3.87 each.
STAFF/SERVICE! A quick overview!
The staff in the store were very pleasant to us both. They weren't over friendly but they weren't rude either. They were professional and quick to take down orders as the line we were in decreased with each passing minute.
SIDENOTE: For someone who is extremely socially awkward, waitresses or cashiers who don't force a conversation with me are a gift from above as its hard enough ordering food as it is. Wafflelicious' staff members are exactly that - a gift from above - so I like the shop even more!
Our food was brought to us in a timely manner (see times below) and we weren't pestered every five minutes with members of staff asking us "Are you enjoying your food?" - because lets face it, after the first couple of times that just gets annoying (I know they can't help it, it's in the job description but some places over do it) - so we could eat our food in peace and enjoy eachothers company.

SUMMARY/STATS
As a whole, our trip to Wafflelicious this morning was totally a trip I'd do again! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and the service was quick. What more can you wish for?
